Teaching Artist: Zach Litwack
Studio: Media Lab
Available Seats: 7This workshop will introduce students to a facet of film editing that is often overlooked and underappreciated by movie-going audiences—sound design. After a brief lecture on the aesthetics of sound editing and the mechanics of editing a basic sound track in Final Cut Pro, each participant will receive raw sound elements and have a chance to edit them into a preexisting scene. Students will walk away with a copy of the edited scene and an appreciation for the communicative power of sound in the film medium. Experience with Final Cut Pro or attendance of “Introduction to Film Editing: The Picture Cut” is recommended.
