The University of Tulsa is pleased to announce the following Graduate Thesis exhibitions for 2013. Billijo Zorn – Printmaking, Mixed Media Cristiana Prado  - CeramicsNatalie Slater – Photography, Printmaking, Mixed Media, Installation Billijo Zorn's installation, titled, "Do Not Resuscitate" uses printmaking and painting to investigate humanity¹s curiosity and drive to collect life, while confronting society's silence and disregard for "civilization's" debilitating effect on nature. Cristiana Prado's body of work is titled, "Lived & Living: Memories and Discoveries from Bahia, Brazil." She uses low fire ceramic techniques and natural materials to express her interpretation of African symbolism, as it presently exists in the culture of Bahia, and through her memories of their culture. Natalie Slater shines a light on the past life of Route 66 through her interactive installation titled, "Mother Road Revisited." Her work layers postcards from the 30's & 50's with rephotographed images of today through collaged light boxes. Cristiana Prado and Billijo Zorn will share the Alexandre Hogue Gallery for their thesis exhibition.  The show will be on display from February 28 through March 18. The exhibition opening will be held in the Alexandre Hogue Gallery on Thursday, February 28, from 5 to 7 pm.  Natalie Slater will install her thesis exhibition at Living Arts of Tulsa in the Brady Arts District.  The opening reception for "Mother Road Revisited" will be held at Living Arts from 6 to 9 pm and be on exhibit through April 26.  Living Arts is located at 307 East Brady Street.
