Heart are working on a new album, their 13th, which they are calling Fanatic. It will be drawn from 20 tracks recently recorded in Los Angeles and their native Seattle. Ann Wilson says one song that will definitely make the final cut is "Walking Good," with vocals by Sarah McLachlan. There will also be a few ballads, but the bulk of it will be rock. "It's got a lot of edge," adds Ann. "I spent a lot of time riding around on a tour bus the last couple of years, just way out in the middle of the country where the poetry speaks really loud. I had a notebook. I wrote a song about Pennsylvania. There's one about Vancouver. It's a fiery bunch of words. There's anger. There's passion. That's why it's called Fanatic." Heart's last album was 2010's Red Velvet Car. They released a career-spanning box set last week, Strange Euphoria, and they're also working on an autobiography. --Mike McCann w/Sal Cirrincione
