Jimi Hendrix Still Hot
In 2010, more than 1 million Jimi Hendrix albums were sold, which explains why the company that oversees his estate, Experience Hendrix, continues to re-release his catalog, as well as unreleased recordings.
On April 12th, the third wave of Hendrix albums under their deal with Legacy Recordings will be released. These include:
Power of Soul: A Tribute to Jimi Hendrix, featuring Santana ("Spanish Castle Magic"), Sting ("The Wind Cries Mary"), Eric Clapton ("Burning of the Midnight Lamp"), Stevie Ray Vaughan & Double Trouble ("Little Wing/3rd Stone From the Sun" live) and many others.
The career-spanning posthumous album South Saturn Delta.
A deluxe DVD edition of Jimi Hendrix: Band of Gypsys (Live at Fillmore East). And a seven-inch single on vinyl and CD of "Fire" backed with "Touch You" and an unreleased track in celebration of Record Store Day on April 16th.
